The Pacific Harbors Council

Welcome to the Pacific Harbors Council Website

The Pacific Harbors Council, Boy Scouts of America annually serves more than 18,000 young people across Southwestern Washington State. Our administrative offices are located in Tacoma and Tumwater, Washington but we serve 7 counties including: Pierce, Thurston, Lewis, Gray's Harbor, Pacific and portions of Mason and King counties.

The Pacific Harbors Council has suffered a great loss.   Everett L. Davidson, lovingly known as "Bugs" at Camp Delezenne, died in a house fire on December 26th.  According to The Daily World, Bugs was housesitting when the fire erupted and was overcome while trying to rescue the family's dogs.  Bugs has served as the caretaker at Camp Delezenne for the past 3 years and according to his brother, loved his time there.  Bugs will be greatly missed.  Please keep his family in your prayers.

A Message from the Council President

Gary Gessel - Council President

The Boy Scouts of America will celebrate our Centennial anniversary in 2010; what a great time to be involved in Scouting!!  Now, more than ever, we need qualified leaders to teach the skills and values of Scouting to our youth.  We hope that this new Pacific Harbors Council website will take advantage of and make even better use of its Scouting resources.  This page will be a “living” document: updating; changing and adding information continuously and ‘round the clock as necessary.

As always, we would love to hear how our Support and Executive Teams might better serve your programmatic needs and the needs of your chartering organizations; and how the Commissioner Corps can better serve You, Scouts and Scouting Units even better.

All the Best in Scouting.

Gary Gessel
